Child labour is not a new issue in Bangladesh. About 4.9 million Bangladeshi children aged 5–14 work to support their families or for their own survival. With his project "Born to work" photographer G.M.B. Akash frames this issue and sheds light on these Bangladeshi children.
Save the Children have worked in Bangladesh since 1970. So far 2,500 children have been offered an education and basic medical treatment, and 5,252 small factories have signed a code of conduct which resulted in better conditions for the children.
